Salmon Finance earns global recognition for client protection

Salmon Group Chief Compliance Officer Eunice Monsod, together with Salmon Finance Compliance Officer Yvonne Ablanida, receive the Client Protection Certification under the Cerise+SPTF Protection Standards, granted based on an independent assessment by MicroFinanza Rating (MFR).

Manila, 28 May 2026 — Salmon Finance Inc. today announced it has achieved the Client Protection Certification at the Silver level under the Cerise+SPTF Client Protection Standards, following an independent assessment by MicroFinanza Rating (MFR).

Cerise+SPTF is a global standard-setting body that helps financial institutions deliver responsible, client-focused services through social and environmental performance standards. To reach the Silver level, Salmon Finance underwent an independent evaluation against international standards covering pricing transparency, customer communication, complaint resolution, and collection practices.

MFR, a global rating agency headquartered in Italy, carried out the assessment. The European Commission accredits the agency to conduct assessments under the European Code of Good Conduct for Microcredit Provision, and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) recognizes it as a rating agency for microfinance institutions.

Fewer than 100 financial institutions hold a Client Protection Certification worldwide, according to Cerise+SPTF's officially disclosed data. Salmon Finance is one of six active financial institutions in the Philippines with the certification. Cerise+SPTF also recognized the company as one of the first adopters worldwide of its Digital Financial Services (DFS) Standards.

For customers, the certification means Salmon Finance prices loans fairly and communicates product information clearly, with no hidden fees. Anti-fraud infrastructure protects transactions, backed by a customer support team, and the company treats every customer with respect from application through repayment.

Eunice Monsod, chief compliance officer of Salmon Group, and Yvonne Ablanida, compliance officer of Salmon Finance, received the certification on the company's behalf.

“This certification reflects something deeper than compliance,” said Eunice Monsod, chief compliance officer of Salmon Group. “It validates that client protection is embedded in how we operate at Salmon, not simply a requirement, but as a principle.”

Monsod added that for Salmon, financial inclusion does not end with access alone — it means delivering services that create real, positive impact in the lives of Filipinos, and that the certification affirms the company's role in extending meaningful inclusion to more of them.

As Salmon scales its services, the company aims to show that growth and responsibility do not have to compete — that real financial inclusion means building systems people can trust.
